The Communications tab in Event Management lets you post updates that are automatically emailed to your participants. Use it for weather alerts, schedule changes, important reminders, and general announcements.

    Accessing Communications

    1. Go to your Organizer Dashboard
    2. Click "Manage" on the event you want to update
    3. Select "Communications" from the sidebar under Management

    Posting an Update

    1. Click the emoji button next to the title to pick a custom emoji (e.g. 🌦️ for weather, 🏆 for results) — this emoji appears in the email subject line and update list
    2. Enter a title for your update (e.g. "Weather Advisory")
    3. Write your message in the content area
    4. Optionally toggle "Mark as important" for critical updates — important updates are emailed to all participants with email enabled
    5. Click "Post & Email Participants" to publish and send emails

    Important vs Regular Updates

    • Regular updates: Emailed only to participants who have general email updates enabled
    • Important updates: Emailed to ALL participants with email enabled, regardless of their updates preference — use this for safety and logistical information

    Editing & Deleting Updates

You can edit or delete any previously posted update using the pencil and trash icons. Note that editing or deleting an update does NOT re-send or recall emails that have already been delivered.

    Where Participants See Updates

    • In their email inbox (sent automatically when you post)
    • On their participant dashboard via the "View Updates" button on their ticket card
    • On the public event page under the Updates tab
