    5. Customer cancellations

If you cancel your booking, payments are not returned to your original payment method under our standard cancellation policy. Where your cancellation is eligible, it is settled as 26.events account credit.

Eligibility, deadlines and the amount credited depend on the event’s cancellation rules shown before booking. Credit is not guaranteed. Credit can be used where account credit payments are enabled; it cannot ordinarily be withdrawn as cash or transferred to another person.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights. If the organiser cancels the event, materially changes it, or otherwise fails to provide what you booked, any remedies required by law take precedence over this policy. Contact support to discuss those circumstances.

At checkout, we ask you to acknowledge these cancellation terms separately and retain the wording, version and time of your acknowledgement with your order.

    6. Payment Terms

    Regarding payments:

    • All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor
    • Prices are displayed in your selected currency where possible

    • Failed payment attempts may result in cancellation of your registration

    Regarding your Wallet balance:

    • Wallet Credit can be earned through refunds, cancellations, or promotional offers
    • Credit can be used for event registrations where Wallet payments are enabled
    • Some events may disable Wallet payments, requiring other payment methods
    • Wallet Credit cannot be withdrawn as cash
    • Upon account deletion, any remaining Wallet balance is forfeited

    • Marketing communications require separate opt-in consent

    10.1 Entrant Data and Marketing

The Organiser acknowledges that access to personal information through 26.events is provided for the administration and delivery of the event for which that information was collected.

The Organiser must not treat entrant information as a reusable marketing, prospecting or audience database solely because an individual has registered for an event.

Unless an appropriate separate lawful basis exists, the Organiser must not export, transfer, synchronise or otherwise use entrant contact information for unrelated marketing purposes.

Where a participant has expressly provided a marketing preference or consent through functionality provided by 26.events, the Organiser may use that information only within the scope of that preference or consent and remains responsible for its own compliance with applicable data protection and electronic communications law.

Following conclusion of an event, access to event information may be restricted, closed or archived by 26.events in accordance with the platform’s retention and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for the 14-day post-event administration period.

    15. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time:

    • For violation of these Terms
    • For fraudulent or illegal activity
    • For any other reason at our reasonable discretion

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Wallet Credit is forfeited upon account termination for cause.

    16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be governed by the laws of Ireland. You agree to attempt to resolve disputes through our support channels before pursuing legal action.
