As an event organizer, you can enhance ticket types by uploading GPS route files directly, providing participants with detailed course information without needing to use the route library.

    Supported File Formats

    • GPX (GPS Exchange Format) - Most common format
    • GPS files from Garmin devices
    • FIT files from fitness devices
    • TCX (Training Center XML) files

How to Upload a GPS File

    1. When creating or editing an event, navigate to the Ticket Types section
    2. For each ticket type, scroll to the "Route Assignment (Optional)" section
    3. Click the "Upload GPX/GPS File" button (you'll see it next to "Select Route from Library")
    4. Select your GPS file from your computer
    5. The file will be uploaded and securely stored
    6. The filename will appear below the upload button to confirm successful upload

When to Use GPX Upload vs Route Library

Choose the best method for your needs:

    • Use GPX Upload: For quick one-off uploads, official race routes from organizers, or when you already have a GPS file
    • Use Route Library: For routes you'll reuse across multiple events, routes that need visual editing, or when you want to build routes from scratch

    Preparing Your GPS Files

    • Test your GPS file in a mapping application before uploading
    • Ensure the route starts and ends at the correct locations
    • Remove any unnecessary waypoints or track segments
    • Verify the file size is reasonable (under 5MB)
    • Keep backup copies of all uploaded files

    What Participants Can Do

Once you upload a GPS file to a ticket type, participants will be able to:

    • Download the GPS file to their own devices
    • Upload the route to their GPS watches or cycling computers
    • Use the file for pre-race course reconnaissance
    • Share the route with training partners
    • Plan pacing strategies based on terrain

    Premium Feature Note

Uploading GPX files and using the route library are premium features available to organizers with active subscriptions. These tools help you provide professional-grade event experiences.

    Troubleshooting

    • If upload fails, check your file format is supported (.gpx, .gps, .fit, .tcx)
    • Ensure file size is under 5MB
    • Try exporting the route again from your GPS software
    • Contact support if you continue to experience issues

    Best Practices

    • Upload official race routes from surveyed courses
    • Include course notes in the ticket description
    • Update routes if the course changes
    • Announce route availability to registered participants
    • Provide routes well before race day for participant preparation
