Customize what participants receive upon completing your event. Instead of generic rewards, you can now configure specific awards that make your event stand out and accurately reflect what finishers will earn.

    Why Customize Finisher Awards?

    • Set clear expectations - participants know exactly what they'll receive
    • Differentiate your event - showcase unique medals, certificates, or swag
    • Increase registrations - detailed awards information builds excitement
    • Better marketing - specific rewards are more compelling than generic descriptions
    • Professional presentation - awards appear correctly on event cards with proper currency formatting

    Accessing Award Configuration

You can configure finisher awards in multiple places:

    1. When creating a new event: Go to Step 5 (Sponsors & Awards)
    2. For live events: Navigate to Manage Event > Sponsors tab
    3. For virtual events: Navigate to Manage Virtual Event > Medal & Rewards tab
    4. Scroll to the "Finisher Rewards" section

    Adding Awards

    1. Click "Use Template" to browse pre-configured award packages, OR
    2. Click "Add Award" to create a new custom reward
    3. Enter the Award Name (e.g., "Finisher Medal", "Digital Certificate", "Race T-Shirt")
    4. Add an Award Description explaining what it includes
    5. Select the Award Type: Digital Only, Physical Only, or Digital + Physical
    6. Use the grip handle to reorder awards by dragging them
    7. Click "Remove" if you need to delete an award
    8. Click "Save Awards" to store your changes

    Using Award Templates

The template library provides pre-configured award packages for common event types:

    • Marathon Package: Medal, certificate, t-shirt, and digital badge
    • Ultra Package: Premium medal, certificate, apparel, buff, and photo package
    • Virtual Challenge Package: Digital medal, certificate, postcards, and badges
    • 5K/10K Package: Medal, certificate, and race t-shirt
    • Trail Running Package: Trail-themed medal, certificate, shirt, and route poster
    • Cycling Package: Medal, certificate, cycling jersey, and water bottle
    • Premium Virtual Package: Physical medal shipped + digital rewards
    • Basic Package: Simple certificate and digital badge

After selecting a template, you can still customize individual awards or add additional ones. Templates are designed to save you time while providing flexibility.

    Award Types Explained

    • Digital Only: Items delivered electronically (certificates, badges, digital medals)
    • Physical Only: Items shipped to participants (medals, t-shirts, trophies)
    • Digital + Physical: Combination packages (medal + certificate, apparel + badge)

    Best Practices

    • Be specific: Instead of "Finisher Package", list each item separately
    • Include all items: Don't forget smaller rewards like bibs, pins, or stickers
    • Order by importance: Put your most impressive awards first
    • Use clear descriptions: Mention sizes, materials, or design details when relevant
    • Update before publishing: Participants see these awards on the event card
    • Consider value tiers: Different ticket types can have different awards

    How Awards Appear to Participants

Once configured, your awards are displayed:

    • On the event card in the browse view - participants see what they'll earn
    • With correct currency formatting - prices show in your selected event currency
    • In a clean, organized list - each award on its own line
    • On mobile and desktop - responsive display for all devices

    Default Awards

If you don't configure custom awards, a default "Digital Certificate" award will be shown. We recommend always customizing this to match what you're actually offering.

    Tips for Virtual Events

Virtual events often have unique reward structures:

    • Digital medals can be displayed in participant profiles
    • Virtual postcards unlock at milestones throughout the journey
    • Physical medal fulfillment can be enabled separately
    • Certificates can include route completion data and statistics
    • Environmental impact badges show trees planted or plastic saved
