When an event organizer finalizes their event, it means they are making final preparations — such as printing BIBs, packing race packs, and confirming logistics. During this time, all participant self-service changes are locked.
What Is Locked?
- Ticket transfers to another person
- Ticket type changes (e.g. changing from Marathon to Half Marathon)
- Ticket cancellations and refund requests
- Name changes on your registration
- Address changes on your registration
What Still Works?
- Viewing your ticket and QR code
- Buying new tickets (if still available)
- Viewing event updates and information
- Accessing route maps and event details
- Donating to fundraiser campaigns
Why Does This Happen?
Organizers finalize events to ensure accuracy of participant data for race-day logistics. Changes after finalization could cause issues with BIB printing, race packs, timing systems, and other preparations.
Need to Make a Change?
If you urgently need to make a change after finalization, contact the event organizer directly. They still have the ability to make administrative changes on your behalf.
Postal Orders Sent
After finalizing an event, the organizer can mark that all postal orders have been processed and posted. When this happens, you will see a green "Postal Orders Sent" badge on your ticket card, confirming that any physical items (race packs, BIBs, medals, etc.) have been dispatched.
