Virtual challenges let you compete in iconic routes and adventures from anywhere in the world. Track your real-world activities and watch as you progress through legendary locations virtually.

    How They Work

Virtual challenges combine real physical activity with digital gamification:

    • Choose a virtual route (like climbing Mount Everest or the Tour de France)
    • Log your real-world activities via app integration or manual entry
    • Your distance/elevation gets applied to your virtual progress
    • Unlock milestones and points of interest along the way
    • Earn a physical finisher's medal when you complete the challenge
    • Compete on leaderboards with participants worldwide

    Benefits

    • Participate from anywhere - your neighborhood, gym, or local trails
    • Complete at your own pace - no fixed race day
    • Family-friendly - anyone can participate
    • Flexible schedule - log activities whenever you can
    • Year-round participation
    • Real medals delivered to your door

    Where your challenges live

Virtual entries have their own "Virtual Challenges" tab in My Tickets, separate from race entries. Each card shows your verified distance against the challenge target, and gives you three actions: continue your challenge, upload an activity, or open your route.

How virtual entries differ from race entries

    • There is no start time, no BIB and no cut-off — begin whenever you like
    • Signing up asks only for your name, contact details and a delivery address for your medal — no date of birth, gender, emergency contact or race-day details
    • Virtual entries cannot be transferred, changed or cancelled
    • If anything needs fixing, use Get support on the entry and we will see your challenge details

    The interactive route

The 3D route view is for participants. Before you enter you can see the opening milestones and what the journey involves; once you have entered, the route follows your own verified kilometres and unlocks each milestone as you reach it.
