There are two ways to add distance to a virtual challenge: upload an activity file, or enter the distance yourself. Both count towards your total and move you along the 3D route straight away.
Uploading a file
- Open your challenge and choose "Add activity"
- Stay on the "Upload a file" tab
- Choose a .gpx, .tcx or .fit file (up to 25 MB) exported from your watch or fitness app
- Check the distance, time and climb we read from the file
- Submit - your progress updates immediately
In Strava: Activity > the three dots > Export GPX. In Garmin Connect: Activity > the gear icon > Export.
Entering a distance by hand
If you ran on a treadmill, your watch will not export, or you simply know your distance, use the "Enter it manually" tab.
- Open your challenge and choose "Add activity"
- Switch to the "Enter it manually" tab
- Enter the distance in kilometres or miles (miles are converted for you)
- Pick the date and the activity type (run, walk, hike, cycle, treadmill/indoor)
- Add the time taken, climb and notes if you want to - these are optional
- Choose "Log activity" - your progress updates immediately
Limits on manual entries
- Each activity must be at least 0.1 km and cannot be longer than the whole challenge
- Up to 100 km per day can be entered manually
- Dates must be within the last 12 months and cannot be in the future
- Manual entries are labelled "Manually entered" in your activity log, so they can always be told apart from uploaded files
Important notes
- Your activity log shows how much of your total came from files and how much was entered manually
- All logged activities must be genuine - anything false can lead to your entry being withdrawn
- Need an activity corrected or removed? Contact support and we will sort it
